The 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival will be a showcase of Australasia and Europe’s best thoroughbred racehorses. Last year’s Carnival provided master trainer Bart Cummings with his record 12th winner in the form of Viewed who edged out UK raider, Bauer and C’est La Guerre. Other big winners throughout the Carnival were All Silent (Emirates Stakes), Rebel Raider (AAMI Victoria Derby) and Samantha Miss (Crown Oaks). The Carnival will be back bigger and better than ever this year with champion horses, fashions on the fields, hospitality marquees and celebrities all playing their part to make this the greatest week of racing in Australia.
